Many times I've taken the train from Hong Kong to Beijing, but never before with a rose on the table.

Went climbing on an old section of the Great Wall called "Jiangjun Guan" (General's Pass) with a friend, Wang Zhigang, at 5:30 a.m.

The Wall is kinda falling apart,

but still pretty damn cool.

Looking down at the village we started from.

Standing in front of what used to be a look-out tower on a mountain peak, now just a mound of brick dust.

You can walk along this wall pretty much forever, although, in some (usually steeper) places it's almost entirely fallen out of existence, and the only way up (or down) is to hang by trees or rocks.

Lots of fun. Then going down took four times as long in pouring rain.

Lunch with Wang Zhigang and friends. The table is covered with lamb and beef; over the course of lunch, it was re-stocked twice with the same amount of meat , and another time with many kinds of vegetables.
