What's so big about China?

China is a fascinating country where you can find something new and unexpected around almost every corner. It's the kind of place that makes you feel alive, rather than enduring the brain-numbing boring and repetitive nature of a familiar environment. There are nearly endless places to explore, and if you immerse yourself totally, then the experience truly does become boundless. Yes, it can be overwhelming at times, but if you can take it, it's good medicine.

My original site was simply called "Conquering China," and contained pictures and journals from my adventures in China in 2000. Later I added another section, about helping a family farm for a week, but beyond that, I didn't make any significant additions to the content, even though a majority of my time these years has been spent abroad. I recently decided to update the entire site, and add in the missing years of pictures and stories.

Trips are grouped by year, the only exception being Taiwan, which has been placed in 2003, even though my time in Taiwan was also spread over 2002 and 2004, and I'm still there now. More content will be added as the years go by.

This site was created and the pictures edited on my laptop in my Taipei apartment.
